Interim Real Estate Lawyer

This role focuses on real estate, and candidates with in-house experience will be particularly well-suited.

The Role:

This role is critical to maintaining and expanding our real estate operations and will involve engaging with senior leaders across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Real Estate Legal Support: Provide expert legal advice on acquisitions, portfolio management, construction, and facilities maintenance workstreams.
• External Counsel Management: Set budgets, manage external legal spend, and oversee the work of outside counsel on real estate matters.
• Contract Negotiation: Draft and negotiate a broad range of real estate agreements, including leases, licences, and agreements for lease.
• Strategic Partnership: Work closely with internal teams such as Finance, Supply Chain, and Licensing to align real estate initiatives with broader business strategies.
• Risk Management: Develop and implement processes and procedures to manage risks and liabilities effectively in real estate transactions.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Liaise with global and EMEA real estate teams to ensure consistency with corporate standards and contribute to the development of standardised legal methods.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

• 1-8 years PQE in commercial real estate, with strong experience in acquisitions, portfolio management, and construction law.
• In-house experience is highly desirable.
• Proven track record of managing external counsel and handling budgets for legal services.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leaders.
• Highly organised, with strong project management skills and the ability to balance competing priorities.
• Proactive, self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and driving process improvements.
