Technology Business Partner
Overview:
We are recruiting for a Technology Business Partner to join the IT department at Walker Morris.
The Technology Business Partner is a newly created role which reflects our dedication to investing in people, innovation and processes as part of our 3-year growth strategy. You'll oversee and manage our Technology Training function to ensure that all our employees are proficient in using our software and systems effectively.The Technology Business Partner will play a pivotal role in improving our firm's technology adoption, enhancing user experience and driving continuous improvement.
You’ll take a client focussed approach to everything you do, building key relationships and providing exceptional service to stakeholders through your day-to-day responsibilities. Spending time with colleagues in the business will be crucial to your success in this role, gaining a real understanding of our technologies and the opportunities they could provide if utilised correctly.You will become a trusted advisor, learning the frustrations colleagues have with the software to identify and implement solutions to improve efficiency and utilisation.
As the Technology Business Partner, you'll analyse usage of software and identify training needs within the firm. You'll be responsible for developing comprehensive training materials and online resources and deliver face to face activities that support the change in habits and use of technology.You'll provide engaging training on technology for new starters, catering to a various level of expertise and deliver tailored follow up sessions.
As the Technology Business Partner you will:
Leadership and Management:
- Oversee the IT Training Team within the firm, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals and objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand how to successfully embed new technology, using various techniques, including training, deliver tailored solutions, and promote the adoption of best practices.
Implementation & Change Training:
- Develop an understanding of the technology available to support colleagues and have a good knowledge of how it is used.
- Continually analyse usage, licencing and benefits of software, including training needs and identify areas for improvement and developing appropriate solutions.
- Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive materials, including user manuals, guides, and online resources, as well as face to face activities that support the change in habits and use of technology.
- Provide targeted and engaging training on technology for new starters at induction, with appropriate and tailored follow ups.
- Personally deliver training sessions on the firm's software and systems, catering to various levels of expertise among colleagues.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of all activities to improve the technology adoption, acting on feedback and making continuous improvements.
- Identify key performance indicators to evidence optimal outcomes of adoption of technology.
- Provide ongoing upskilling and knowledge transfer to colleagues, addressing any technology-related queries or issues and ensuring swift resolution.
- Prepare and present reports on implementation adoption and training activities progress, and outcomes to senior management.
Delivery:
- Continually identify new and innovative ways of enhancing user adoption of technology.
- Knowledge transfer to colleagues to enable them to develop and maintain the skills necessary to gain maximum benefit from the technology for them to become proficient and efficient in their working day.
- Research and where appropriate adopt new methods of technology adoption and training including online and digital delivery methods as well as face to face.
- Work closely with all areas of IT, particularly the Service Desk as well as Project Team, Innovation and Legal Tech Team and the Innovation Lead.
Project Work:
- Work with the project teams to learn new software/packages to be instrumental in the change process required to adopt these new applications and provide suitable activities to support training and adoption.
- Adapt documentation provided by suppliers and work with suppliers to ensure the training meets the needs of the business
- Deliver training and adoption plans to project timescales and the achievement of project benefits and success criteria.
What are are looking for:
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a legal or professional services environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- In-depth understanding of IT systems, software, and applications used within a law firm setting.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering effective system adoption and training programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
- Ability to adapt understand a wide variety of technology quickly and to get the best from it.
- Have an interest in changing technologies and keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
- Relevant qualifications in IT, education, or a related field.
- Have an understanding of change and training in a business setting.
Some of our benefits include:
- Salary reflective of your experience, circa. £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience.
- Earn up to 10% of your salary with our annual bonus scheme.
- Minimum of 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays per year increasing to 31 days with length of service, with the opportunity to buy/sell up to 5 days holiday per year.
- Auto enrolled into the workplace pension scheme, and we'll contribute a minimum of 6% of your salary.
- 4x your annual salary in the event of a death in service.
- Hybrid and flexible working for most roles with 40-60% of your time spent in the office. For this role, more regular office attendance may be required to emerge yourself in the business, build strong relationships and learn the technologies available.
