We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated radiographers to join the Radiotherapy team at the South West Wales Cancer Centre based at Singleton Hospital, Swansea.
The Radiotherapy Department consists of a fleet of four matched Elekta Linear Accelerators, all with cone beam CT capability plus a CT/Simulator with a sentinel surface guided system. This complements the C- Rad surface guided system on our Versa HD Linear Accelerators.This technology has enabled the introduction of deep inspiration breath hold surface guided radiotherapy for breast cancer patients.
We have an established review team working with all disciplines within the trust.
Main duties of the job
To work in a team and have senior responsibilities. To supervise and train radiotherapy staff and student radiographers. Provide a safe environment for staff and patients.
As a Radiographer you are legally responsible and accountable for your
professional actions, ensuring that proper authorization in accordance with established criteria has been met and the treatment will be of benefit to the patient. You will ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times for staff, patients and visitors to the department.You will exhibit a high standard of personal integrity and professional demeanour, maintaining strict patient confidentiality at all times, thereby justifying public trust and confidence.
To ensure at all times the effective delivery and verification of radiotherapy treatment. To ensure yourself and other radiographers are fully compliant with IR(ME)R regulations governing the use of ionizing radiation.
To maintain the appropriate competencies relating to treatment techniques, equipment, patient care, communication skills, innovation and manual dexterity.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities- The operational management of Linear Accelerators, CT/Sim and pre-treatment area.
- Implementation of all SBU policies and procedures.
- To promote and maintain high professional standards by providing training and supervision to less experienced staff and students.
To be responsible for CPD (continuous professional development) by attending relevant courses, seminars, group meetings etc. To present information within a multi-disciplinary group.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome

Qualifications
Essential criteria- BSc (Hons) T or DCR(T)
- HPC registration
- Studied at MSc level
Knowledge
Essential criteria- Working knowledge of radiotherapy Techniques.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance and audit.
- The ability to speak Welsh
Experience
Essential criteria- Working experience on a range of radiotherapy equipment.
- Experience of teaching junior staff and students
Skills
