As a Functional Skills Tutor, your role will involve delivering high-quality training in functional skills, both remotely and face-to-face, using approved resources and digital platforms. You will be responsible for creating and implementing personalised training plans tailored to individual learner needs, maintaining accurate records of learner progress, and ensuring that learners are fully prepared for their exams.

You will work closely with the Exams Officer and other Tutors to monitor and support learner progress, contributing to the overall success of our training programmes.

Essential Criteria for the Functional Skills Tutor:
  • A qualification or experience in delivering functional skills training at Level 1 and 2, both remotely and in person.
  • Level 2 qualifications in Numeracy and Literacy.
  • Experience in working with employers in a training or customer relations capacity.
  • Strong IT skills and a willingness to work with e-portfolios and digital learning tools.
  • Ability to motivate learners and ensure timely completion of their training.
  • A full driving licence, access to your own vehicle, and a willingness to travel to employer sites.
  • High levels of self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
  • A reliable internet connection at your place of work.
Desirable Criteria:
  • An assessor qualification.
  • A relevant degree.
  • Experience in Further Education or a similar environment.
