This role sits within the Chief Technology Office within Cabinet Office Digital. We are responsible for architecture and engineering across the Cabinet Office and own the newly commissioned Technical Design Authority for the department. We work in collaboration with individual business units and Arms Length Bodies to align technology and operate platforms for the benefit of the products and teams dependent upon them.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Cabinet Office Digital Platforms estate.

This role will help shape our Simplification and Consolidation strategy and principles supporting delivery of digital services within business units across the Cabinet Office.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to move into a fast paced, varied Business Analyst role.

As a Business Analyst you will be supporting a Senior Business Analyst and Business Architects on a variety of complex transformation programmes along with some business as usual activity such as secretariat work.

You will liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, building strong and collaborative relationships within and outside of the business unit. You will use a range of communication channels (e.g. board papers, email, instant messaging, presentations) to keep stakeholders engaged and informed.

Whilst primarily working within a small team, you’ll need to keep up to date with wider organisational policies and strategies that are relevant to the work of the team.

You will be carrying out research, using Business Analysis tools and techniques to proactively identify areas where improvements can be made, and see these through to delivery.

You will be given direction and guidance from members of the team but will be required to plan and manage your own workload, prioritising and managing the expectations of senior stakeholders across the team and wider business unit. You’ll demonstrate attention to detail in completing secretariat activities as part of programme governance.

Responsibilities
  • Applying sound communication and influencing skills to both technical and business stakeholders;
  • Undertaking research and analysis to understand how a business or business area works, considering the people, organisation, processes, information, data and technology;
  • Proactively identifying areas for improvement, exploring feasible options and impact assessing these using your knowledge of the business unit and stakeholders, analysing the effects of change and defining success measures;
  • Horizon scanning and intelligence gathering to understand any business and policy constraints that need to be considered, and assessing the implications.
