Housekeeper - Ward A5

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly enthusiastic and energetic individual to join A5 as a Ward Housekeeper. Successful individuals will need to be able to work with the Ward Manager to ensure that all facilities on the ward are conducive to a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
The Housekeeper will work as an integral part of the ward team. Working with the Person in Charge to ensure that all facilities on the ward are conducive to a clean, safe, tidy, comfortable and efficient environment.
The main elements of the role are supporting the smooth and efficient delivery of care within the ward environment by the delivery of nursing aspects of cleaning, catering and supplies management, together with other specified tasks to meet patients needs.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
Main duties of the job
Cleaning
To assist the person in charge to ensure the clinical environment meets the standards for the Infection and Prevention Control Ward Accreditation programme for the Trust
Catering
Catering support is a key part of the role for ward based housekeepers or in departments where food is served as part of the appointment. In other OP areas this may be a minimal requirement.
Maintaining the Environment
Assist clinical staff to ensure the storage areas are kept clean and tidy and productive, free from clutter and overstocking. Maintain adequate linen stock levels and return linen not fit for purpose

Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria- Demonstrates understanding of the role outlined in the Job description
- Previous experience of professional cleaning, catering, portering services, working with the public, e.g. retail
- Use of IT systems eg teletracking, datix
- Customer service experience
Qualifications / Training
Essential criteria- Numerate and literate
- Communicates clearly in writing
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- Evidence of development, skills, knowledge and abilities
- Understanding of safe moving and handling practices
