Job overview

We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic, experienced Healthcare Science Associate Practitioner. The post would also suit an experienced Senior Cardiographer who is looking to further develop their skills. Salary would be adjusted dependent on qualifications and experience.

This is an exciting time to join our team, as we are expanding and improving our services. We are currently provide cardiology diagnostic services across three sites. Outpatient activity at the Sandwell Health Campus, and City Health Campus. Acute services are delivered at the new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The role would include Holter monitor analysis and reporting, assisting with exercise tolerance testing, ILR implants and tilt table testing, as well as performing ECGs and ambulatory monitor application when required.

They should also be able to demonstrate good organisational skills, as part of this role will be to help with ordering stock for the department and performing and collating audit results.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE in English and maths; grade A-C or equivalent
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience
  • SCST Diploma in electrocardiography
  • SCST Certificate in electrocardiography
Desirable criteria
  • A levels or equivalent qualifications
  • Appropriate foundation degree when available.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working as a Healthcare Science Associate Practitioner
  • Ability to perform and interpret ECG’s and a range of ambulatory cardiac recording devices
  • Experience of using Hospital IT systems including localised cardiology IT systems
  • Experience of working as a Senior Cardiographer
  • Ability to report ECG’s and a range of ambulatory cardiac recording devices
  • Experience of assisting in exercise tolerance tests
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to perform under supervision Exercise Tolerance Test clinics as a 2nd assistant.
  • Ability to perform under supervision Implantable loop recorder follow up clinics
