Test Technician

The Test Technician will be responsible for performing testing, fault finding, and validation of power supply units (PSUs) and related components to ensure they meet the required specifications and industry standards. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong technical background in electronics and experience in power supplies.

Main Duties and Key Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: DIRECT OR INDIRECT (D/I)

Perform routine and advanced testing of PSUs and components according to established procedures. D
Troubleshoot and diagnose faults on power supplies and related systems. D
Collaborate with the engineering team to resolve issues and ensure products meet customer specifications. I
Document test results, findings, and any modifications made during the testing process. D
Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure accurate results.D
Ensure all products meet safety and quality standards before shipment. D
Provide feedback and suggestions to improve testing procedures and product designs. I
Assist with production-related technical tasks as required. D
Adhere to all company health and safety policies during testing and handling of electrical components. D
Adhere to all test procedures to ensure high quality of products.D

Maintain the test area and keep it tidy and organised. D

Take responsibility for the materials return process, logging, testing, producing reports, occasional contact with customers. D

In addition to these functions, employees are required to carry out other duties as may be reasonably required.

EDUCATION LEVEL REQUIRED / PREFERRED (R/P)

BTEC Level 3 in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent P

HNC/HND in Electronics or related field P

EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED / PREFERRED (R/P)

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a test technician in electronics, preferably power supplies. P
Experience in fault finding and troubleshooting electronic systems. R
Experience with testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power analysers. R
Familiarity with AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies. R
Full driving licence. P

Legal entitlement to work in the UK. R

SKILLS AND APTITUDES REQUIRED / DESIRED (R/D)

Strong technical knowledge of electronics and testing procedures. R
Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and technical drawings. R
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing.R
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. R
Familiarity with test equipment. D
