The role may also require the post holder to develop a service to admission wards, or to support the admission avoidance agenda. To provide clinical leadership with regards to delivering key acute stroke metrics (SNAPP) To provide Highly Specialist input to the Videofluoroscopy Clinic, as well as FEES assessments, including independent analysis, reporting and management of dysphagia To contribute to the nutrition support team ward round and attend the Trust nutrition meeting, contributing to service developments and strategy To provide specialist assessment and management of complex cases, including patients with tracheostomy, with support from the clinical lead therapist as required The post holder will work jointly with the senior SLT team to promote an integrated service to patients, in keeping with service aims.
This may at times require the postholder to work in the community, or with outpatients To provide clinical supervision / mentor junior colleagues, working co-operatively with the Senior SLT Team. This includes co-ordinating regular CPD sessions for the team.There is also a line management role intrinsic to the post. To contribute to the provision and assessment of students on clinical placement including SLT students and wider MDT professions. This includes contribution to existing lecturing and formal training programmes To work collaboratively with hospital services, wider community services, Alliance and ICB partners to support care pathways for the client groups.
