SDH Developments Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, provides pharmacy services to patients and visitors attending the Outpatients Department at Torbay Hospital. These services continue to develop, and we are now looking for a pharmacy dispenser to join our team.
In this role you will dispense medicines for patients. In addition, you will undertake related duties including ordering and receipt of stock, and be involved in the provision of an efficient and effective ‘front of house’ service for customers, including the sale of medicines.
You will have excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills, and be an effective team player. You will work well in a pressured environment.

The primary objectives of this outpatient pharmacy are to improve patient safety, improve the patient experience, and to allow further investment in healthcare facilities in South Devon.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or nationallyrecognised equivalent qualifications)GCSE English and Maths.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbalComputer literate.
Understanding of Health & Safety Legislation and RiskManagement.
Moderate periods of standing attending to needs of patients and staffModerate periods spent reaching for and lifting light pharmaceutical products.
Exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances is rare.
Work pattern generally predictable with periods of concentration required for dispensing, accurate use of computer and completing general duties.
