We are actively seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Midwife Sonographer/Sonographer to join our forward thinking team of friendly & supportive professionals in providing a range of obstetric ultrasound examinations.
Whilst we are ideally looking for sonographers trained in 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd trimester ultrasound, consideration will also be given to Midwife Sonographers who are currently trained in 3^rd trimester growth scans with a willingness to undertake further training.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be an autonomous practitioner, promoting best practice and high standards whilst also working closely with the Fetal Medicine team, obstetric and midwifery colleagues.
You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills and must be competent to undertake and report scans independently. Further education is encouraged, including support to attend relevant courses to maintain personal and professional development to meet service needs.
We provide services across 3 hospital sites – Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester. Ideally, the successful candidate will be able to work at a minimum of two of these sites, though consideration will be given to the individuals skill set, home address and preferences.

Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria- Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound (Obstetrics) or other equivalent ultrasound qualification
- Registered as a Midwife with the NMC
Skills & Ability
Essential criteria- Competent in 1st, 2nd and 3rd trimester ultrasound scanning to include dating, nuchal, anomaly and growth scans
- Able to independently manage and monitor work lists
Experience & Knowledge
Essential criteria- Able to make appropriate clinical decisions in view of recent research, informed choice and individual circumstances
- Demonstrate extensive clinical knowledge of ultrasound scanning techniques and appropriate pathology in multiple areas
- Knowledge of GROW charts
