Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated first level registered nurse to join an established clinical trials unit team as a seconded band 6 role within Clinical trials.

You need to have considerable clinical expertise in oncology, be experienced in clinical research, and have proven clinical skills in administration of SACT. You will be required to demonstrate, excellent communication and organisational skills and evidence of developing leadership qualities.

This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

Main duties of the job

Responsibilities will be supported by clinical leads during this opportunity and will include

To assist multidisciplinary teams in entering patients into trials

Co-ordinate trials under the supervision of Team Leads within the service

To supervise, advise and develop a team of research nurses/officers and trial coordinator’s at band 5 and below.

To communicate and collaborate with local regional and national Organisations regarding administration of research as required.

Delivering SACT treatment on the Clinical Research Treatment unit.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
