Youth Behaviour Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Youth Behaviour Support Assistant to join our specialist provision in B33, helping students develop their potential in a supportive and positive environment.The provision is purpose built with facilities supporting students needs along with a team of dedicated support staff. This is a great opportunity to share or even build your experience within the classroom, supporting young individuals and making their lives more fun, independent and meaningful.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised support to students with SEMH needs, encouraging their learning and growth.
- Employ a calm, proactive approach to managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Assist in creating and implementing individual behaviour support plans and tailored interventions.
- Build positive relationships with students, acting as a mentor and positive role model.
Requirements:
- A calm, resilient approach and the ability to remain patient in challenging situations.
- A current DBS on the update service (essential).
- Experience working with young people in settings such as youth services, support work, probation, police, or similar fields (preferred).
- Understanding of SEMH and effective strategies to support young people’s needs.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to safeguarding young people.
