Main duties of the job

Are you passionate about providing exceptional care to women and birthing people throughout their transformative journeys? We invite you to become a valued member of our dynamic team, where you can make a real difference in antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care within our nurturing maternity unit or community settings.

Your Role:

  • Holistic Care: Deliver comprehensive midwifery care tailored to individual needs during this pivotal time
  • Autonomous Practice: Work independently within guidelines, showcasing your skills while prioritising safety and comfort
  • Collaborative Relationships: Forge strong connections with our multidisciplinary team to ensure every woman receives effective and responsive care
  • Lead with Purpose: Assess care needs and play a key role in developing and evaluating personalised care pathways
  • Mentorship: Support unqualified staff and students, sharing your expertise to guide the next generation of professionals
  • Uphold Excellence: Adhere to Nursing and Midwifery Council regulations and the Midwives Rules and Codes of Practice

Person specification

Knowledge Training and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Degree/Diploma in Midwifery
  • Current NMC Registration
  • Experience in midwifery practice
  • Completed preceptorship
  • Practice Assessor/supervisor
Desirable criteria
  • NIPE Qualification
  • Competent in clinical skills required within the role e.g. cannulation/perineal suturing

Skills and Abilities

  • IT Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Team working skills
