This is a fixed term post until December 2026 working 17.5 hours per week. Ideally, we are looking for an applicate who can start in March 2025.
The post holder will actively contribute to ground-breaking research using anonymised data held within SAIL Databank including records pertaining to the magistrate and Crown courts, prison, children’s social care, education, substance misuse and health.
Given the specific project focus on disparity and vulnerabilities amongst those who have breached their criminal justice orders, it would be beneficial for applicants to have experience of undertaking quantitative research in one or more the following policy areas: children’s social care, education, substance misuse, mental health or criminology. However, greater emphasis will be placed on applicants having strong analytical / coding skills since key responsibilities include supporting the principal investigator (Dr Helen Hodges) with the preparation and analysis of the various datasets to examine the circumstances of children (under 18s) involved in criminal court proceedings across England and Wales.
It is anticipated that the post holder will also be involved in reporting and dissemination activities including liaising with key stakeholders and other interested parties.
