About the Role
Our client is seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team at a specialist SEN school in Hemel Hempstead. As a key member of the staff, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and complex learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEN
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Support students with communication, social, emotional, and sensory needs
- Encourage independence and confidence in learning
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to create a nurturing environment
- Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe and supportive setting
- Previous experience working with children with SEN (desirable but not essential)
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting children
- A genuine passion for education and child development
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to different learning needs
- A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent) is beneficial
