Salary £29,554 - £35,370

The Role:

We are looking for a music technology professional that can work in our Music area in a dual role as a programme/tutor technician. They will be a conscientious, inclusive, innovative and highly motivated individual. Who will deliver inspirational teaching & learning on our UAL Music courses at level 1, 2 and 3.

The role also involves providing technical support in the music studios, maintaining our specialist technology equipment, preparing resources for classes and ensuring the area complies with health and safety regulations.

You will join a highly proactive performing arts team and will be responsible for the organisation and delivery of the Music curriculum in respect to music production audio and live sound recording. The role involves being a programme tutor for a group of music students and you will support their progression to their next step towards meeting their career goals.

You will inspire, teach, assess and contribute to the curriculum design and delivery for your students. Our UAL delivery involves seeing our student groups performing in live venues, Theatre and Studios. You will work closely with our Performing Arts tutors to contribute to productions and music tours in the local community.

Oldham College is a medium sized general further education college, with a turnover of almost £25m. It has one main campus in the centre of town, and this in the third phases of a £40m redevelopment which began in 2012. The Music area sits in this main campus area and has performance and recording studios.
Higher education is taught on a second, dedicated campus, a short walk away. The College delivers a full range of work related education and training, including 16-18 programmes of study, T levels, apprenticeships, adult learning and higher education.

It has over 5000 full-time students and 600 undergraduates.

The College is in the top quartile for 16-18 programmes of study and English GCSE resits, and in apprenticeship provision, but is the second highest performing provider Greater Manchester. The quality of its higher education provision is better than many established universities.

Requirements:

With a relevant degree/industrial experience and a teaching qualification or willingness to work towards this, you will have a broad range of skills relating to music technology in respect to digital recording, live sound production. You will have good organisational skills and be able to advise and support students through their career development and planning.

Ongoing staff training and support is available as part of our professional development for curriculum staff.
