This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and caring individual to join our Cardiology team as a Trainee Cardiac Physiologist. Whether you’re a recent A-level graduate with a passion for science or a university graduate looking for a hands-on, patient-facing healthcare role, this could be the perfect path for you.

You’ll be employed full-time within the department for three years, gaining practical experience in a wide range of cardiac diagnostic tests while working through structured in-house competencies. Alongside this, you’ll study for a BSc (Hons) in Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) at Sheffield Hallam University through a degree apprenticeship – meaning no tuition fees for you.

Knowledge Requirements

Essential criteria
  • Relevant theoretical/practical/technical knowledge to underpin the investigative procedures within the department

QualificationsAcademic/ Craft/ Professional

Essential criteria
  • Qualifications to enable the candidate to take BSc in Clinical Physiology Degree
  • Computer literacy skills
  • BLS / ILS certificate

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Some experience of the routine and specialised complex investigations
  • Communication skills
Desirable criteria
  • Managerial training/ experience

Further Training

Essential criteria
  • Has experience of the Cardiac Department
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in training
  • Has experience of the NHS

Contractual Requirements

Essential criteria
  • 37 hours per week
  • Willing to complete the Degree Apprenticeship
