Senior Knee Fellowship - arthroplasty / soft tissue surgery with joint preservation and paediatric knee surgery (Specialty Registrar Higher level)

Applications are invited for the above post commencing from 6th August 2025 for 12 months

The post comprises of 1 – 2 days research and experience in Knee Osteotomy, ligament reconstruction and Arthroplasty.

Completion of the Fellowship may lead to a Post Graduate Certificate in Leading Clinical Innovation and Improving Performance. A contribution by the Fellow and the Trust to the Diploma Course will normally be required.

Candidates should have ideally completed a basic Orthopaedic Registrar training programme and passed the appropriate exit examination.

The Orthopaedic and Trauma Department is based in the two Major Teaching Hospitals in the City of Cardiff, the Capital of Wales.

References will be required to cover a minimum of three years of previous employment and/or training

Main duties of the job

The post is attached to the Cardiff Lower Limb Arthroplasty Unit, at both the University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough and serves a local population of 500,000 and provides a tertiary referral service for a population of 1.5 million. The successful candidate will be exposed to all aspects of knee surgery.

There is a fully established Research Unit. The successful candidate will be expected to take part in ongoing research projects together with specific research.
