If you believe you can enhance the unbelievable talent at St Matthew Academy, we would like to offer you the opportunity to work with us. St Matthew Academy is a high performing Catholic school, where pupils thrive both academically and socially.

In October 2019, Ofsted confirmed SMA as a good school, where all pupils through their hard work and commitment, are able to ‘let their light shine.’ In February 2023, our CSI inspection stated ‘The behaviour of pupils is exemplary in lessons and around the school, and strong and positive relationships are evident throughout the school.’ Our strong foundations are allowing the academy to relentlessly pursuit the ambitious goal of becoming a beacon of excellence in education and become a truly great school which our community deserves.

We are looking for a dynamic, exceptional Music teacher who will develop the all pupil’s passion for the subject as well as enhancing the incredibly talent we have across St Matthew Academy. The role offers the right candidate an opportunity to join a forward thinking Performing Arts team who are always looking to push the boundaries of their areas and work closely with our primary colleagues to deliver a bespoke curriculum across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

At KS4 music is a popular option choice and the successful candidate will be expected to teach across all phases of the academy. The department is receiving significant investment with the aim to enhance the learning experience of all pupils and allow even more talent to be identified.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Passionate about providing opportunities which will allow all pupils to exceed expectations
  • A dynamic, forward thinking and innovative classroom practitioner
  • Able to motivate, challenge and inspire all pupils to succeed
  • Relentlessly drive high expectations for pupils, staff and themselves
