An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join an alternative provision in Southport, providing tailored support to a student with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. This long-term, full-time role requires a compassionate and resilient individual who is committed to making a meaningful impact on a young person’s education and wellbeing.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with SEMH needs, adapting to their individual learning requirements.
- Assist in managing emotional and behavioural challenges, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement personalised learning strategies.
- Build strong relationships with the student, encouraging engagement and progress.
- Essential: Experience working with children with SEMH or additional needs, particularly those requiring one-to-one support.
- A patient, understanding, and committed approach to supporting vulnerable students.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- A full-time, long-term commitment to providing consistency and stability.
