Alternative Provision 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Southport

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join an alternative provision in Southport, providing tailored support to a student with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. This long-term, full-time role requires a compassionate and resilient individual who is committed to making a meaningful impact on a young person’s education and wellbeing.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with SEMH needs, adapting to their individual learning requirements.
  • Assist in managing emotional and behavioural challenges, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement personalised learning strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with the student, encouraging engagement and progress.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Essential: Experience working with children with SEMH or additional needs, particularly those requiring one-to-one support.
  • A patient, understanding, and committed approach to supporting vulnerable students.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • A full-time, long-term commitment to providing consistency and stability.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
