This is an exciting opportunity to join the Communications Team within the Counter Fraud and Compliance (CFC) Operations Deputy Director Support Office. The Communications Team is a small team which leads on delivering communications across CFC, building relationships across operations, and working with a wide range of stakeholders to support delivery of operational priorities.

You will work with senior leaders, wider Communication Teams and colleagues across Counter Fraud Compliance and Debt (CFCD) to provide high calibre support in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions and child maintenance policy and is responsible for helping people move into employment, supporting pensioners and protecting some of the most vulnerable in our society.

CFCD’s aim is to drive down the level of fraud, error and debt within the benefits system, to protect the public purse.

As part of CFCD, you will be at the heart of DWP’s efforts to reduce fraud and error in the benefits system. This is a hugely important public service, and our challenge is bigger than ever.

If you want to join somewhere that recognises the importance of work-life balance, where you can learn new skills and progress your career, then CFCD is the place for you.

What will you be doing?

This is a dynamic and fast-paced role that will involve shaping, influencing, and improving communications right across CFC Operations.

You will be part of a small team of communicators, working closely with deputy directors, whilst also collaborating with communicators across the wider CFC team and other key stakeholders.

We are looking for a motivated and creative person who can think outside of the box to look for opportunities to engage and communicate to achieve maximum impact through a range of different channels.

You will have excellent organisational skills, be flexible and feel comfortable working with people at all levels. Good verbal and written skills are essential, as is the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities, making regular judgements about priorities.

You will use your media skills to film, create and edit engaging videos for a range of topics across CFC Operations.

This is a national role, and some travel and overnight stays will be expected, depending on business needs (minimum every other month).

You will:

  • Have an innovative and creative skillset and be confident in using the digital packages available to DWP colleagues, particularly SharePoint, Microsoft Office, Teams and Town Halls.
  • Have drive and enthusiasm, and a creative flair for design, along with the ability to adapt flexibly to changing priorities.
  • Be keen to contribute ideas about greater use of digital content to support the communications strategy work led by colleagues.
