We are looking for a Wiredrawing Machine Operator at our Rotherham, South Yorkshire location - Working a 3 shift rotation system (Mornings/Afternoons/Nights)Position Overview:
The Machine Operator reports to the Production Manager and is responsible to operate machinery draw wire producing wire in various sizes from various steel and nickel alloys.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible operating the wiredrawing machinery to produce wire ensuring the quantity and quality meet efficiency rates and customer requirements.
- Maintain machinery during operation.
- Operate butt welder as required.
- Report / communicate machinery issues to the maintenance department and supervision.
- Inspect shaped wire produced to ensure product excellence and quality using a variety of precision measuring tools (micrometre/ laser micrometre/ etc.).
- Use of forklift and cranes to load/unload machine and to move material to and from machines, complying with Health & Safety regulations.
- Complete all necessary data entry, reporting, and product identification requirements.
- Ensure and observe all safety and housekeeping rules and guidelines, including carrying out daily safety inspections.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Experience of working within a factory environment ideally within the steel industry
- Ideally have a FLT License
- Strong working knowledge of Health and Safety
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
