Brent Special School Nursing team are looking for a flexible, motivated and highly skilled administrator to join us in supporting children and young people with health needs to attend school and achieve their potential.
We are based at The Village school in Brent but also provide outreach services to Woodfield school, Manor school and The Avenue school.
You may be expected to travel between sites to support the nursing team with tasks such as heights and weights so will need excellent communication skills, administration and IT skills to support the team in delivering a high-quality service to the pupils and any professional partners.

Main duties of the job- The post holder will provide a comprehensive and high quality administrative support to the team. The post holder will assist in organising the team’s workload and manage diaries.
- Post holder will be part of the National Child Measurement Programme and will weigh and measure children in Reception and Year 6 and accurately record the measurements.
- The post holder will provide supporting administrative functions such as ordering supplies, support temporary staff and the day to day running of the office.
- The post holder will act as a point of contact for patients, colleagues and external partners and appropriately manage communications within the team
- The post holder will take responsibility for referral, visit and appointment administration as appropriate to the role, and communicating appointment related information to patients/carers.

Person specification
Education/Qualification
Essential criteria- Good literacy and numeracy, general education
- NVQ Admin Level 3 in Administration or relevant experience
Experience
Essential criteria- Secretarial and administrative experience in an office environment
- Experience of working with the general public in a customer or client-facing role
- Experience of inputting to databases, spreadsheets and/or other IT Systems and business applications used in the office environment
- Experience of taking, producing and distributing notes or letters as directed
- Experience of working with patients and carers in a public sector environment
- Experience of working in a health care environment
- Knowledge of stock ordering procedures
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria- Understanding of the need for confidentiality
- Understanding of Equal Opportunities
- Ability to create and structure office systems e.g. filing, stationery and equipment ordering
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook )
- Accurate copy typing
- Able to prepare routine correspondence independently
- Able to provide evidence of where you have demonstrated the Trust’s Values and Behaviours
- Able to demonstrate excellence in Customer Service
- Able to meet the required IT Skills for the post
- Experience of working in an environment requiring an awareness of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
