Cover Supervisor / Classroom Assistantwith the ability to work as part of a team and learn new skills, who has excellent communication and organisational skills is required for an education trust based in Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire.

Applications are welcomed from both experienced Cover Supervisors or those looking to gain experience, as full training will be provided.

This role can be a career in itself or serve as a springboard to a teaching career or other work with young people in the future.

WORKING HOURS: 27.5 hours per week worked between the hours of8.30am - 3.00pm Monday to Friday, term time only, 39 weeks per year

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Cover Supervisor / Classroom Assistant with the ability to work as part of a team and learn new skills, who has excellent communication and organisational skills.

Working as the Cover Supervisor / Classroom Assistant you will join the cover team at this school which offers the perfect opportunity to become involved in the learning of young people.

This role can be a career in itself or serve as a springboard to a teaching career or other work with young people in the future. Although you will not be teaching, ensuring the students keep on task is most important, so good classroom management is essential.

DUTIES

Your duties and key responsibilities as the Cover Supervisor / Classroom Assistant will include:

• Supporting a mixture of classes during the absence of the regular class teacher
• Setting the work provided
• Monitoring/managing behaviour
• Keeping students on task as well as supporting teachers in the classroom
• Help deliver lively and engaging lessons from existing plans
• Support students by responding to questions
• Provide classroom and technician support and exam invigilation during quieter times
• General administration support, including working with the Senior Administrative Officer in organising pre planned cover timetables

• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work as a team
• Ability and willingness to learn new skills
