Intercompany Accountant

We are recruiting for an Intercompany Accountant to join a global company with their HQ in Hatfield. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that intercompany transactions are efficiently, and accurately. The position is a 12 month FTC and is offered on a hybrid basis.

Day to Day of the role:

• Liaise with commercial and logistics teams to resolve financial disputes and queries.
• Support both internal and external audits as required.
• Contribute to financial accounting efficiency and process improvements.
• Assist with statutory financial reporting and completion of Office of National Statistics returns.
• Reconcile control accounts and assist with accrual and journal postings during month-end close.
• Communicate with local and overseas counterparties to confirm and agree intercompany balances.
• Enter transactions into the group’s Global Intercompany System and ensure accurate accounting.
• Prepare various month-end accruals to support the Financial Accounting Manager.
• Provide accurately reconciled balance sheet reconciliations related to Intercompany accounts.
• Raise intercompany invoices and recognise intercompany FX in the P&L account.
• Work closely with the Treasury team to settle intercompany balances.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Experience with financial reporting, balance sheet control, and transaction processing.
• Proficiency in financial consolidation tools and SAP.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with teams across different regions.
• Ability to develop processes and documentation, facilitating the best use of IT systems.
