Junior Clinical Fellow Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Job overview
The post holder will complement existing services in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department. The post holder is required to have full registration with the General Medical Council, a valid licence to practise and have completed foundation training or equivalent.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn and develop a range of skills in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Main duties of the job
The post holder with be responsible, under the supervision of the consultant, for the day-to-day care of elective and emergency patients.
The post holder will work and liaise with the colleagues across the multidisciplinary team to ensure an appropriate, professional and timely provision of care to patients.
Opportunities to work with a Consultant will be provided to ensure on-going requirements for professional development and education. You will have regular appraisal with help to build your own portfolio. You will be encouraged to participate with other team members in audit and ongoing research in the department

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Primary medical qualification (eg. MBChB, MBBS)
- Adult life support provider (APLS/PiLS)
Experience
Essential criteria- Demonstration of acquisition of the level of knowledge and skills necessary for the completion of F2 or evidence of equivalent training and experience.
- Broad knowledge of Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Proven ability to take clinical history and undertake examination
- Knowledge of the workings of the NHS.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Able to explain things clearly – particularly complex or sensitive information
- Demonstrates understanding of the basic principles of research
- Experience of active involvement/participation in Audit (clear description, outcomes &appropriate experience for level of application)
- Relevant contribution to management within Obstetrics & Gynaecology (eg rotas, committees etc)
