Reporting to: Head of HR
What You'll Do:
Expert Advice:
- Be the Go-To Expert: Provide top-notch advice on HR policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve and aligned with legal requirements and company goals.
Administrative Support:
- Master of Organization: Create and manage all administrative documents for personnel across our three sites, using templates provided by the Head of HR.
- Data Guru: Keep Cascade updated with all personnel information and documentation, including absence and contractual changes.
- Payroll Pro: Accurately record workshop hours to ensure seamless payroll processing.
Employee Relations:
- Problem Solver: Support and resolve employee relations issues, including disciplinary matters, grievances, and absence management.
- Welcome Committee: Conduct company inductions for new starters and assist line managers with return-to-work interviews following absences.
Recruitment:
- Talent Scout: Assist senior management across all sites with the recruitment and selection process, helping us find the best and brightest.
Compliance:
- Law Keeper: Ensure compliance with employment law and data protection regulations (GDPR), keeping us safe and sound.
Policy Development:
- Policy Innovator: Update HR policies and procedures in collaboration with the Head of HR, ensuring they are current and compliant with changing legislation.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Insight Provider: Develop Cascade use to report monthly on absence and staff turnover to the Head of HR, providing valuable insights.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Relationship Builder: Build and maintain strong relationships with managers and employees at all levels, acting as a trusted advisor.
Person Specification:
- Experienced Professional: Extensive experience at HR Advisor level, with operational experience in a fast-paced environment (retail, manufacturing motor industry).
- Legal Savvy: Strong understanding of UK employment law, HR policies, and procedures.
- Self-Starter: Ability to prioritize own workload and adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
- Communicator Extraordinaire: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem Solver: Ability to effectively address and resolve employee relations issues.
- Tech-Savvy: Efficient system use: Cascade, Engage, MS Office.
- Certified: Relevant HR certification (e.g., CIPD) may be beneficial.
- Mobile: Driving license and own vehicle essential as travel is part of the role.
