We are seeking two Senior Information Analysts to help transform hospital activity data into actionable insights, enabling effective planning and delivery of acute services and overseeing critical external reporting to NHSE.
In recent years, the BI team has been instrumental in guiding the Trust through critical healthcare challenges, predicting COVID-19 admissions with advanced forecasting models, developing real-time operational dashboards, and accessing unprecedented data flows.This exceptional work has earned national acclaim, including the Health Tech Newspaper Award for Best Use of Data in 2020 and AphA's Analytical Team of the Year award.

Main duties of the job
We are seeking a skilled, motivated analyst with strong analytical expertise, who can communicate and present complex information effectively to diverse stakeholders. The ideal candidate will excel under pressure, manage conflicting deadlines and prioritise tasks efficiently.
A key focus of the role is to support the Trust’s senior leadership in improving patient experience, contributing to our vision of delivering the “Best Care for Everyone.” This role requires an experienced, forward-thinking, solution-oriented analyst driven to make a meaningful impact, with a passion for delivering exemplary BI services.
The successful candidate will:
- be primary responsible for providing vital information to internal teams and external stakeholders

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
This role is an integral part of the Medicine and Urgent Care team within the Business Intelligence (BI) unit at Cheltenham General Hospital.
The post holder primarily has responsibility for the provision of information to both the organisation and our external stakeholders.
This involves working closely with clinicians and senior managers within the hospital to understand their requirements, developing reporting tools and providing intelligence to enable services to make better informed decisions. The post holder will need to be engaging, forward thinking, and work with a positive attitude in order to build great working relationships with our customers to improve patient care.
The post holder will also be responsible for interrogating large volumes of highly complex data, and use a variety of software and analytical methods to turn this data into intelligence.
The post holder is expected to highlight any areas of concern with regard to data quality and accuracy and undertake appropriate action as required. The post holder will work as part of a team of analysts, but will be required to work independently at times and manage their own workload.They will also need to take a proactive approach with regard to prioritising and negotiating deadlines.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Bachelor Degree or equivalent educational level
- Intermediate SQL, Analytics and IT skills.
Experience
Essential criteria- Excellent SQL skills– data management, interrogation & analysis products
- Advanced knowledge and highly skilled in the use of MS Excel.
- Ability to challenge and manage user expectations
- Excellent problem solving skills to the development of advanced analytical methodologies.
- Good understanding of patient pathways
Knowledge
Essential criteria- Ability and experenice to present information with a high level of accuracy to a wide range of audiences both verbally and electronically (e.g. charts graphs, reports, scorecards, tables, dashboards etc.)
- An analytical mindset and ability to explain trends and themes in data.
- Detailed understanding of the importance of data quality
- The ability to exercise own initiative and work independently to achieve objectives and deadlines.
- In depth knowledge and understanding of NHS Data Dictionary including datasets, data standards and data modelling concepts
