Senior Vice Principal/Deputy Headteacher (Behaviour & Attitudes)
What skills and experience we're looking for
Due to the retirement of the post holder, the Governors are seeking to appoint an exceptional, energetic and ambitious Senior Vice Principal to join our well-established School Leadership Team. In a role of critical importance to the development of excellent teaching and learning that will secure good outcomes for all our students, you will work with members of the SLT under the direction of the Principal and be responsible for Behaviour and Attitudes throughout St Peter’s.
You will be responsible for:
- Raising standards and achievement through the securing of excellent student conduct and attendance
- Monitoring student conduct and evaluating behaviour and attitudes
- Monitoring student progress
- School evaluation, including liaison with pastoral leaders and others, and the development of the school self-evaluation document
The role requires strategic thinking, excellent communication skills and an ability to lead and motivate staff and students. Applicants for this reserved post must be practising Roman Catholics.
You will have:
- Experience in the effective management of a high-performing pastoral team
- Experience in the sustained delivery of outstanding pastoral care
- A proven track record in leadership
- Relevant skills to raise standards
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in improving pastoral care, with the ability to identify pastoral priorities and build a strategy for sustained improvement
- Experience in the line management of teams
- Experience of liaising with outside agencies
