We are looking for exceptional candidates (two vacancies) to develop and refine high quality research projects that deliver research for the wider public good that is likely to provide evidence that will inform decision-making

The Opportunity:

The post-holder/s will work as part of ESRC funded Scottish Centre for Administrative Data Research (SCADR) within a multi-disciplinary team of social scientists, delivery partners in Public Health Scotland, National Record of Scotland, EPCC as well as practitioners from Scottish Government departments.

These posts will particularly focus on research into how health and wellbeing is produced over someone’s life course and through their interaction with particular places and environments as aligned with the Scottish Government National Outcomes.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

Please note this is a fixed term contract until 31 March 2026 and likely to be extended.

Your skills and attributes for success:

A PhD in a social science or health discipline with a large statistical and data analytical component.
Proven methodological competence in a range of advanced quantitative methods including advanced statistical modelling and longitudinal analysis, and experience of using appropriate software packages.

Demonstrable ability to interpret, explain, present and communicate the results of quantitative data analysis to different audiences and an interest in communicating research findings to a wide range of stakeholders (including for training activities provided by SCADR).

A track record of producing and contributing to high quality scientific publications.
