The post holder is expected to keep the stores area clean and in a secure condition in accordance with Health and Safety regulations and report any concerns to the supervisor or ward manager. They would assist in the security and safe custody of local stock and other delivered goods.
Ensure that local stock is effectively rotated upon receipt. Keep goods and paperwork tidy. Takes personal responsibility for selecting the correct method of transportation of goods. If manual transportation is required this may include the use of roll cages, pallet lifters or other lifting or carrying aids.
The housekeeper MUST ensure the required training has been undertaken BEFORE use and consults with the ward manager where the required training has not been undertaken needed to complete the task. Where required (or requested) to do so, ensure that Personal protective equipment is used.
If required to work high lifting equipment that is done with at least one other colleague present. Where required or requested demonstrates their duties to new starters or wider colleagues. The post holder will maintain the security of sensitive personal or other confidential information received by them and will reliably apply all relevant information governance policies to working practice.
Additionally, they will be expected to follow secure operating procedures for handling information in all formats, including verbal, written and that held electronically. The post holder will support the Trusts internal audit service during regular reviews.
The post holder is responsible and accountable for their own practice in line with Trust infection prevention and control policies that reflect evidence, best practice, and legislative requirements. In addition to observing the departmental rules and procedures, which all staff are required to observe and follow, the post holder is also required to follow the Trusts general policies and procedures that apply to the employment relationship.
