Physiotherapy Assistant | Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Both posts will be expected to cover hydrotherapy sessions at Platt Bridge Health Centre on a weekly basis.
Duties are varied (both clinical and non-clinical) and the successful applicants will be involved directly in the assessment, care and treatment of patients with a variety of conditions, under the supervision of qualified therapists.
A caring and considerate manner is essential to the post. We would expect the candidates to have a good level of general education, basic computer literacy and knowledge of Physiotherapy interventions. Previous experience of working in a relevant health related area would be essential.

§ To contribute to the overall Physiotherapy process by carrying out a basic review of patients and conduct procedures within agreed competency levels
§ To carry out information collection from patients/relatives as requested by Physiotherapy staff
§ To follow treatment plans as prescribed by Physiotherapy staff and identify and select activities that meet treatment goals
§ To work independently in a clinical setting with an assigned routine caseload, under the direction of a Physiotherapist
§ Instruct patients in the use of equipment and techniques to promote independence
§ Assisting poolside during hydrotherapy sessions

On-Call
Please note that senior positions (AFC band 8A or above) may be expected to participate in an on-call rota, if the role is predominantly operational.- To carry out a flexible patient centred programme of therapeutic activities under the direction of a Physiotherapist
- To enable patients to achieve their treatment goals
- To keep accurate written records and statistics as required by the service
- To assist in departmental administration
- To assist in the organisation and running of the MSK hydrotherapy sessions
