Care Assistant
We are seeking dedicated Care Assistants to join our team in Retford and Gainsborough. As a Care Assistant, you will support our clients' daily lives in their homes. Your key responsibilities will include
Promoting independence and delivering personal care:
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support personal hygiene routines and continence care
- Administer medication as per care plans and organisational policies
- Provide mobility support, including safe use of mobility aids and equipment
- Maintaining living environments:
- Ensure clients' living spaces are clean, tidy, and safe
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences
- Assist with laundry and light housekeeping duties
- Identify and report any potential hazards in the home environment
- Record-keeping and collaboration:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records
- Report concerns or changes in clients' conditions promptly to supervisors
- Work effectively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive support
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to care plan reviews
- Emotional support and companionship:
- Engage clients in conversation and provide emotional support
- Assist with social activities and hobbies to promote mental well-being
- Encourage family and community involvement where appropriate
- Professional development:
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities
- Stay updated on best practices in care provision and organisational policies
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations
- Full and valid UK driving licence with access to own vehicle (essential due to rural location)
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and alternate weekends
- Genuine passion and commitment to caring for others
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical fitness to assist with clients' mobility needs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic first aid knowledge (preferred)
- Right to work in the UK
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide references
- Previous experience in a care role is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided
