The Associate Director is responsible for promoting the vision and values of GP First Ltd, leading by example and ensuring that they demonstrate those values in their leadership behaviours and how we support our Team and GP Member Practices and deliver our services.

Responsibilities: The Associate Director is responsible for delivering the organisations strategy, incorporating the following: Support our member practices in helping them to provide patients with high quality care; Lead on the planning, development and delivery of services; Have a clear understanding of capacity and demand within all services delivered by GPF; To ensure that digital technologies underpin the way services are delivered at present and in the future and to drive all aspects of innovation and service improvement; Planning and managing services to ensure the best possible use of resources; Review all new income opportunities and propose new activity work streams to further grow the GPF portfolio of services; The Associate Director will be responsible for all aspects of the operational performance of the organisation whilst maintaining quality standards and ensuring the implementation and maintenance of good governance arrangements.

This includes the line management of all GPF employees and associated teams. The Associate Director will regularly liaise with the following to meet agreed objectives:-GPF DirectorsPCN Clinical DirectorsPCN Managers Digital & IT Transformation ManagersMember GPsPractice ManagersICB Management TeamNHS England The Associate Director will be expected to be fully committed to and act as a role model for the organisations corporate values.
Leadership: Working relationships will extend beyond the immediate GPF team and communication and collaboration with colleagues across healthcare boundaries and other external stakeholders is essential. Act on behalf of the GPF Directors at external meetings, effectively presenting the organisations perspective, in addition to contributing to strategic level developments across the wider health community.
Develop and maintain productive relationships across the organisation. Promote high quality care. In collaboration with the GPF Directors, the Associate Director has responsibility for the development and improvement of healthcare services across the member practices and PCNs.
Strategic Development Support the GPF Directors in identifying priorities and objectives for the organisation. Assist the GPF Directors with leading the organisations strategic development and planning. Development and implementation of digital and technological transformations within the organisation Embed a quality improvement agenda within the organisation.
Ensure all clinical services have appropriate measurement of processes and outcomes (including patient-reported outcomes where available). Promoting research and innovation. Working with our ICB partners to help develop services to meet gaps in resources.
Lead on the annual activity, capacity and demand planning process for the organisation. Ensure that agreed income, expenditure, cost improvement, productivity and efficiency plans are developed and delivered and where necessary undertake timely mitigating action to rectify under-performance.
Operational The Associate Director is responsible for ensuring that all quality and access standards are achieved across all services provided In the event of non-delivery of quality and access standards or expectations, to put in place remedial action plans with milestones and trajectories to ensure improvement is monitored and delivered.
Develop, maintain and refresh forecasting and trigger tools relevant to the organisation to identify risks to the delivery of quality and access standards within the organisation, producing summary reports as required. Use the above to proactively support the development of improvement plans that will enable the organisation to get back on track before services become non-compliant.
Quality and Governance Ensure that proposed service developments are supported by robust business plans that clearly identify all the activity, quality and strategic benefits including full evaluation of the income, cost, risks, and anticipated outcomes.

This should include details of the governance arrangements for monitoring the outcomes and mitigating actions in the event that the investment benefits do not materialise Ensure that digital technologies underpin the way services are delivered and drive all aspects of the innovation and service developments within the organisation Ensure that effective Clinical Governance, Risk Management and Controls Assurance systems and procedures are embedded into the culture of the organisation to ensure effective leadership and management of services.

Financial Management Ensure robust financial management systems and processes are in place to optimally utilise all budgets and resources. Develop an annual financial plan encompassing all aspects of planned activity, income, expenditure and cost improvement.
Support the GPF Directors to ensure all payments, claims and financial transactions are accurate and managed effectively. Maintain all financial transactions with the organisations financial accounting software (SAGE etc). Ensure all staff payments are made accurately and on time.
Human Resource Management Ensure that GPF operates an effective staff development process, engendering a culture that reflects the values of the organisation. Ensure effective leadership development across all services provided. Implement a robust succession planning process for all key posts.
Maintain and develop key GPF policies and procedures, to ensure that we adhere to all current aspects of employment law. Support PCN Managers /Practice Managers with management of employed ARRS staff. Managerial / Organisational relationships The Associate Director is responsible for the effective day-to-day delivery of services as well as ensuring continuous service improvement and integration of services.

Any other duties as deemed necessary by the GPF Directors that are commensurate with the role. Additional Information This job description is designed to assist the GPF Associate Director to understand what is expected of them in their role. GP First may ask them to undertake other duties, as required, which are not necessarily specified on the job description but which are commensurate with the grade of the post.
