The role is within the UK&I Transaction Risk team, which is a core pillar within Risk Consulting. Team members are based in our offices in Belfast, Dublin and London.Our Transaction Risk team delivers governance, risk management and controls related solutions to a broad range of clients, including corporate clients and private equity firms undertaking or preparing for large scale transactions, including Initial Public Offerings ("IPOs"), Integrations and Separations.The opportunityThe Senior Manager is client-facing and holds the primary day-to-day relationship with the client, taking accountability and responsibility for the seamless end-to-end client experience and proactive oversight and coordination of service delivery and client relationship management.To be effective, the Senior Manager gains insight into the clients business, is able to identify the key business drivers and potential transaction-related risks (financial and non-financial).The Senior Manager ensures that deliverables are received by the client on time and to the expected quality.
This is underpinned with a commercial mindset and focus on profitable growth.Your key responsibilitiesManaging client engagements (scope, resourcing, budget), and ensuring smooth delivery through status tracking, issue and risk management, and change control.Monitoring and reporting on engagement economics, margin and resource trends.Effective team leadership, stakeholder engagement and accountability for client deliverables, including preparation and review of formal reports and presentations.Creation of client value through delivery of focused conclusions, recommendations and advice.Supervising and developing team, providing constructive feedback.Assisting in the development of client solutions and identifying new business opportunities.Adhering to EYs Quality and Risk Management (QRM) policies, compliance requirements and supporting specific projects and initiatives.Developing and deploying tools, methods, best practices and improvement initiatives.Active investment in own learning and development.Skills and attributes for successExceptional client service delivery, engagement ownership and change management skills.Experience in multi-tasking and managing multiple engagements simultaneously.Ability to demonstrate understanding of, and sensitivity to, a range of stakeholders needs and expectations, including successfully managing client requirements.Strong analytical, critical thinking and decision-making ability.Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and priorities.Navigating ambiguity and political aspects of change.Relationship development, excellent verbal and written communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Experience in coaching engagement team members.Teaming with diverse cultures and across the countries of operation of EY.Growth mindset and proactive in own continuous development.To qualify for the role, you must haveA professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).Business processes and controls knowledge (gained via previous experience within Governance, Risk and Controls, External Audit, Internal Audit, SOX or similar).Knowledge of UK Corporate Governance requirements.Experience of senior management and stakeholder management (Board, Executive Management, Sponsor Banks, Legal Advisors).Strong analytical, presentation and report writing skills to Board / Audit Committee / Sponsor Bank.Strong engagement management and ability to effectively manage a demanding workload with tight deadlines in a fast-paced and challenging environment.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (mentoring and developing team members, confidence in client and wider stakeholder interactions).Be a self-starter and a pragmatic problem solver.A passion to provide high quality service to your clients.Ideally, youll also have experience ofExperience working in a professional services environment, Private Equity Fund / Portfolio Company or PLC.Transactions Advisory and Due Diligence and project management experience, including associated risk management procedures.UK Listing Rules, Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules and Market Abuse Regulation requirements.What we look forHighly motivated individuals with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize shifting workloads.
