The Portsmouth Grammar School is a leading co-educational school located in the historic heart of Portsmouth. The Caretaker (Weekends) is responsible for supporting the successful day-to-day operations of the Estates Department. The successful candidate will work as part of a team to enhance the security of the school site, provide support as directed to the school’s busy and varied events programme and create a safe and welcoming environment for all members of the school community and external visitors.

A uniform will be provided.

The Estates and Operations Bursar has overall responsibility for all the Estates support functions within the school, including caretaking, cleaning, maintenance, grounds maintenance and transport. The Caretaker (Weekends) will report to the Head Marshal who is responsible for all caretaking requirements.

This is a part-time post for a Caretaker (Weekends) for 17 hours per week. The hours of work are Saturday 08.00–18.00 and Sunday 10.00-18.00 with an unpaid 30 minutes for lunch on each day.

Any overtime would need to be agreed in advance with the Estates and Operations Bursar and claimed via monthly timesheets, in arrears.

This is a part-time position, to include attendance at all Professional Development Days (INSET) in the school calendar.
