With well over 1400 titles, from primary to adult learning, we’re the market leader.
Based in the beautiful Lake District, CGP is independently owned and happy to be different.
We handle almost every stage of the publishing process in-house, from product development, editing and design to marketing, customer service and shipping.
You’ll use your research skills to identify opportunities for fabulous new print and digital products, cost up your ideas and present sound business proposals to senior colleagues.
You’ll then bring your product to life with the help of our in- house Editing, Digital and Design teams.
To thrive as a Product Developer, you’ll be a graduate with an impressive academic background and a sound track record in research — this could be a PhD, Masters or from your experience in a relevant role (not necessarily publishing).
You’ll have a curious and creative mind, and the ability to analyse complex data to great commercial effect.You’ll be joining a small team so there’s plenty of opportunity to make your mark right from the start.
To be considered, you’ll need to be:- Highly numerate and commercially aware – able to evaluate options quickly by simplifying or estimating key figures
- Confident interrogating complex (and often incomplete) data sets to uncover trends — great Excel skills are a must
- Creative — with ideas that you can articulate clearly
- Open-minded, curious and keen to learn (able to ask the right questions)
- Independent, and a self-starter with the confidence to pursue your own ideas
- A great communicator – verbally and in writing
- An excellent listener – able to take on feedback from colleagues, teachers and pupils
- Flexible – whatever your background, you’ll be comfortable working across all subject areas and age groups within the education system Ideally, you’ll be able to drive as the role will at times require travel to other sites and to local schools.
