We are now hiring for a new Trainee Water Treatment Engineer to join our Water Hygiene team across Peterborough and Norfolk. Your role will ensure the highest quality delivery of pre-planned water hygiene maintenance to a wide variety of client sites, whilst delivering high quality customer service.

Travelling to varied client sites, across Gloucestershire & Wiltshire will be part of our position.

Training for our role is provided from our highly experienced engineering team, in addition to mentoring and support from our experienced Supervisors. A company van and fuel card for business mileage will be provided (full UK driving licence required), and at times there may be a requirement to travel further afield – depending on business need.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and flushing of water outlets
  • Checking and cleaning water tanks and systems
  • Carrying out TMV checks and maintenance
  • Completing all work on in house software using an iPad
  • Delivery of quality customer service to a variety of clients

Requirements

Your skills and experience:

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a trade and customer focused role
  • Passion and dedication to develop your career within water hygiene
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with ability to build customer relationships
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on their own
  • Experience using Apps & IT software / equipment such as and iPad and Mobile Phone
  • Excellent time-keeping
  • Full UK, manual, driving licence

Desirable:

  • Experience working on water systems in buildings or with water qualifications

Applicants must be able to provide evidence of their Right to Work in the UK.

All roles at SMS require a DBS check; SMS Environmental will cover the cost of this if you do not already hold a valid DBS certificate.
