Is paediatric dietetics the specialist field for you? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, hardworking dietitian with an interest in paediatrics to join our paediatric dietetic team. The post will be either be a Band 5 development role or band 6 role depending on experience.This is an opportunity to join a friendly, proactive paediatric dietetic team with an excellent reputation for its work in both the hospital and community.
This post offers the opportunity for a newly qualified dietitian or existing band 5 or 6 dietitian to develop their clinical skills within a variety of paediatric clinical areas including in and outpatient settings with a varied caseload including nutrition support, allergy, gastroenterology, weight management, neonates and diabetes.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work on the paediatric wards, support on the neonatal unit and provide face to face and telephone clinics on a weekly basis. This will allow you to develop a broad range of knowledge and skills within paediatric dietetics.Ongoing clinical support and supervision is provided by your clinical mentor promoting advancement of your clinical skills and confidence.
The successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills and time management skills, the ability to be flexible and demonstrate a strong commitment to team working. An interest in working with children and young people is vital along side adaptable communication skill for the differing age groups.
The post holder will also participate in student training and staff development programmes as well as contributing to the service audit programme and promotion events.
This post will be fully supported within the Paediatric dietetic team which includes acute paediatric team leader/neonatal dietitian, paediatric community HEF/cystic fibrosis dietitian and paediatric diabetes dietitian.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To deliver specialist dietetic services to paediatric patients within Leighton Hospital and across Central Cheshire as part of the paediatric Dietetic Team.
To formulate, deliver and monitor nutritional care plans for referred patients including complex clinical conditions and diet therapy, across the acute settings.
To be recognised as a source of knowledge in the field of paediatrics, contributing to the development of clinical guidelines, resources and education package.

Essential criteria- HCPC registered as Dietitian
- post registration training in paediatric dietetic intervention
Experience
Essential criteria- Clinical experience in NHS inpatient care
- Clinical experience in NHS out patient dietetic provision
- 2 years post registration experience
- clinical experience in paediatric service provision
