Job overview

We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our Domestic Team at the Ormskirk site.

1 x 26 hours (part time, permanent)

1 x 30 hours (part time, permanent)
  • Providing a customer focused service, to carry out general and specialised cleaning tasks in accordance with Trust procedures.
  • To ensure the environment is maintained to a high standard and safe working practices adhere to in all aspects of hygiene management.
Main duties of the job
  • Cleaning of structures internally / externally, indirect patient equipment and components manually or mechanically.
  • Isolation/ deep clean as appropriate.
  • Maintenance / cleaning of all cleaning equipment.
  • Safe removal of dirty linen.
  • Assist in the commissioning/ decommissioning of new area.
  • Curtain changes as appropriate.
  • Keep a tidy work environment.
  • Follow Waste Disposal Policy to ensure safe removal of waste, ensuring correct segregation of waste.
  • Ensuring the removal of waste by contractors is carried out on a weekly basis.
  • Ensuring that building security controls are adhered to and problems reported immediately.
  • Key holder for community buildings.
  • To work unsupervised as a Lone Worker and be aware off the issues.
  • To cover other clinics or hospitals as necessary.

Community Services

Providing adult community services for St Helens and a wheelchair service in Chorley, South Ribble, and West Lancashire. Our inpatient unit at Newton Community Hospital is where patients needing acute hospital beds can continue rehabilitation, freeing up space for more unwell patients.

We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.

Specialist Regional Services

We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
