We are looking to appoint a highly skilled and passionate Teacher of Mathematics. The post is for an excellent teacher who is able to enthuse both students and colleagues with their love for mathematics. We are looking for a person who is hard-working and believes that mathematics is a learned occupation in that all students can achieve and excel irrespective of starting points.

As a Maths Teacher in our school, you will play a vital role in fostering students’ interest, engagement and mastery in maths through innovative teaching methods, challenging activities, and real-world applications. We want an enthusiastic specialist who instills a love of learning and whose teaching is inspirational and aspirational.

We welcome applications from both ECTs and experienced teachers.

Interested candidates are encouraged to visit the school before making an application.

If appointed, you will be joining a supportive, functional unit of dedicated, committed teachers who work tirelessly to improve the life chances of young people in our care. We are focused on delivering curricula across the key stages that reflect the knowledge and skills needed by our students at each stage of their academic development and by the end of their time at our school.

There is a buzz of enthusiasm throughout the faculty and a real sense of camaraderie as we navigate our course through the next stage of our journey. Staff are extremely positive about the school and the Faculty and go the extra mile to teach great lessons and build positive relationships with the students they teach.

Working at Greig City Academy

Our school is unique. It is a diverse, vibrant and supportive community where staff and students thrive on innovation, collaboration and a shared commitment to success. Staff go the extra mile to support students and the outcomes are often extraordinary.

Our successful and oversubscribed Academy is a caring and creative environment in which all students can enjoy learning, develop enquiring minds and gain the skills and knowledge they need for a changing world. We want happy and successful children ready for their future.

Paul Sutton, our inspirational Principal, has built a strong and dedicated team of well-qualified staff who share a common vision to raise students’ achievement.

Staff at the Academy collaborate and support each other by sharing good practice and taking a collegiate approach with a focus on their own contribution to our collective vision. Students and staff work together with enthusiasm and commitment often over and beyond the school day.

The successful candidate will be joining a tight-knit community; staff turnover is consistently low and the well-being of our staff is important to us. We aim to support staff to achieve a sensible work-life balance.

The personal development of all our staff is highly valued at GCA and we offer the opportunity to apply for our Learning Award of up to £2,400 per year for your continued professional development or other skills and talents. This is in addition to the school’s ongoing CPD programme.

Staff can opt into incentives including our Cycle to Work scheme and an interest-free annual season ticket loan.

We have an array of wellbeing initiatives such as a weekly yoga session, Staff Art Club, regular visits from a qualified massage therapist and social events throughout the year, to name but a few.

Why not pay us a visit and find out more? Contact Viv Oxley by email at voxley@greigcityacademy.co.uk or by calling 020 8609 0100, we will try to find a time that works best for you.

We are committed to the principle of equal opportunities; we welcome all applicants and value the diversity they bring.

Greig City Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we have safer recruitment procedures in place for the selection of staff. Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and additional pre-employment checks in line with the latest Keeping Children Safe in Education statutory guidance.

NOTE: It is an offence to apply for a role if the person is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. (Legislation.gov.uk – section 7(1)(a) of the SVGA 2006)

In line with the latest KCSIE statutory guidance, as part of our due diligence checks on shortlisted candidates, references will be requested before interview and an online search will be conducted.
