Job Title: Senior Compliance Officer: Group and UK

Key Relationships:
Internal: Group Head of Compliance/ UK SMF16, Heads of EU and North America Compliance, UK Compliance managers, UK, EU and US Compliance Staff. Boards, committees and senior management, all major business and functional areas including: Underwriters, Claims, Operations, Finance, Internal Audit, Risk and Culture & People.
External: Central Bank of Ireland, PRA, Lloyd’s, FCA and as required. Specialist legal and consultancy vendors, market peers and industry forums.
Job Summary: Support the management of regulatory affairs for the plc entity, and the UK compliance teams as needed, assisting with incoming requests and making sure they are appropriately triaged, tracked and managed to delivery with appropriate senior executives across the firm.Assist with delivery against procedural regulatory requirements in the UK including the filing of returns, formal notices, and SM&CR matters. Provide accurate advice and assistance to the business and functions on Lloyd’s processes, byelaws and Oversight Principles.

Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Engagement: Responsible for reviewing incoming requests from the CBI, identifying sensitive or urgent requests, and ensuring these are fielded with the appropriate stakeholders to support delivery against regulatory expectations within requested deadlines.Providing the business with contextual information and assessments to help them understand regulatory expectations. Maintaining high quality and accessible tracking processes to support timely delivery, reporting and the appropriate risk management of the regulatory relationship.
Drafting high quality briefing notes for executives preparing to meet with regulators and supporting the business with quality control on formal responses to regulators. Minute taking in formal meeting for senior executives. Assist with the preparation and filing of periodic regulatory returns.
Horizon scanning: Using the dedicated third-party horizon scanning service to understand the regulatory environment in the jurisdictions where we operate. Contributing to the Compliance function’s remit to highlight key regulatory developments that could impact Beazley’s business, explaining and contextualising this as needed.
Contribute to Compliance input to regulatory 'mandatory change' projects at Group, and in Beazley Furlonge as required, including advising the business on the appropriate interpretation of requirements to enable effective implementation.
Contribute to and deliver training on key regulatory and compliance topics to the business and Board members.
Stakeholder management:Build effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Liaise closely with the Global Compliance SLT and Compliance Managers to help support regulatory relationships at Group and in the UK.
Governance and assurance: Prepare insightful internal reporting for boards and committees on regulatory activities and advisories, as required. Contribute to the development, documenting and maintenance of policies and procedures within the function.
Risk Management: Assist Risk Management and other assurance colleagues in periodic assessments of regulatory compliance KRIs. Contribute to the design and delivery of compliance monitoring and testing as needed.

- Strong understanding of the UK insurance market and regulatory framework – essential
- Strong knowledge of Lloyd’s oversight processes and business model - esssential
- In-depth regulatory relations experience for an insurer – essential
- Experience of working in a global and fast paced business environment – essential
- Experience of managing or working within a regulatory engagement team or equivalent – highly advantageous
- Experience and understanding of the CBI’s regulatory approach - advantageous
- Good understanding and experience of managing compliance with Solvency II - desirable
- Strong knowledge of property and casualty insurance - desirable
