In order to support us on our journey, the Digital Transformation Directorate is currently seeking a forward thinking and enthusiastic Systems Management Analyst to join our Clinical Systems Team in the Digital Operations Department.

It is expected that you will have previous experience working at the required level with clinical IT systems in a large, complex environment/organisation and be able to provide an excellent standard of user support and systems configuration knowledge to complement our wider Digital team.

You must be focused and committed to participating in a positive work environment, in which staff will be supported to flourish and grow.

Main duties of the job

This is on a full-time, permanent basis, focusing primarily on user and technical support in relation to IT clinical systems. This will include providing specialist knowledge to enable the design, delivery, maintenance, and support of digital systems, supporting and facilitating successful knowledge transfer to their colleagues in the Digital Systems team and the wider Trust.

The role will require understanding of Trust processes and workflows as it incorporates responsibility for ensuring that system data reference files, system upgrades, general system maintenance is managed effectively and in a timely manner.

Support and lead (where applicable and delegated by the System Manager) on the development of the Trust’s use of IT systems and helping to promote a culture of continuous quality and service improvement.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience of the use and configuration of clinical IT Systems
  • Demonstrate relevant experience of system configuration and as well as training, advice and support to end users, analysing problems and providing solutions in clinical IT Systems
  • Experience of working both independently and in a team orientated collaborative environment
  • Experience of information asset administration
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of working in an acute NHS Trust
  • Able to promote clinical systems within the Trust
  • Experience of managing other members of staff
  • Understanding of relevant IT management issues and techniques e.g. system change control, user acceptance, helpdesk provision, service level agreements, security standards & data protection

Qualifications/Training

Essential criteria
  • Degree level education or equivalent qualification or relevant experience in management of complex clinical IT systems
Desirable criteria
  • Clinical IT system formal training / qualifications
  • Level 3 Qualification in IT
  • ITIL Qualification
  • PRINCE 2 Foundation
  • Evidence of continuous self-development
