We are seeking an Equipment Library Engineer (EBME) to work within a dedicated team at Watford Hospital, working with varies medical devices to a high standard. You be based mainly within our Equipment Library. This can be a physical job with some mental challenges.
Working Hours 08:00 – 16:00 - Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job
To carry out Preventative Planned Maintenance (PPM), breakdown/repairs and assembly of devices.
Report writing and database management.
Degree in Science, Bio Medical Engineering, or HNC with equivalent qualification or professional experience would be needed.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Working as part of the clinical engineering team at Watford Hospital you will be required to work on electrical or mechanical medical equipment and assisting the senior/specialist engineers in the everyday running of a busy department.
Person specification
Education and qualifications
Essential criteria- Degree in Science, Engineering, or HNC with equivalent qualification or professional experience
- Degree in Clinical Engineering or Technology Relevant manufacturers’ courses
Knowledge
Essential criteria- Good knowledge of the repair, calibration and safety testing procedures for Electronic /Electromechanical/Mechanical equipment
- Good understanding of the principles of inventory management.
- Record keeping and database maintenance
- Knowledge of individual manufactures equipment (certified).
- Knowledge of EPR systems and device connectivity requirements
- Understanding of the process to review equipment related risks and enquiries
- Able to produce reports from excel/word and a management database system.
Experience
Essential criteria- Able to demonstrate skills in working in a workshop environment
- Experience of working according to workshop practices and procedures and computer systems
- Experience in electro-medical engineering to Include preventative maintenance, servicing, inspection, repair, calibration, quality control, acceptance testing
- Experience in dealing with Field Safety Notice issues.
