We are currently recruiting for a School Staff Instructor (SSI) to join our Combined Cadet Force (CCF) team. Working under the Contingent Commander, the SSI would have responsibility for the administration of the CCF and liaison with the MOD, CCF officers and staff in the effective provision of logistical support, for a busy CCF programme.
In addition to the role of SSI, the successful candidate will take on the role of Sixth Form Study Supervisor and Educational Visits Co-Ordinator (EVC), both vital roles in the smooth functioning of the school and its extra-curricular activities, and roles that will fit comfortably with the SSI position within the school.
The successful applicant will be well organised and energetic with a passion for working with young people. Previous experience of military service and/or working with cadets is essential. An awareness of MOD and Cadet regulations, as well as a range of qualifications in military and adventurous training activities, is desirable; however, there will be ample opportunity for the successful candidate to add to their qualification portfolio through additional courses and training.A driving licence, including D1 (minibus) is essential.
The position requires a level of flexibility with regard to the working hours and days of work (due to the timings of CCF events), and it is expected that this will include some weekends activities and an after-school parade evening once a week.
Working hours: Full-time, Term Time Only, including Inset Days and Open Days with an additional 4 Weeks during School holidays (in SSI capacity).Salary: Up to £28,000 dependent on qualifications and experience + up to 51 days per annum allowance at the prevailing MOD SSI rate.
