Principal Enterprise Service Manager (Commercial Enterprise Customers)

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services team is looking for a Senior Enterprise Service Manager (ESM) who is an experienced Technology Consulting leader to manage the sell and deliver relationship with one or more of our commercial enterprise organizations, develop a long term Professional Services strategy and execute that strategy with those accounts.

The Senior ESM is a trusted advisor for our largest, most complex and most committed customers. The role includes all aspects of business development, relationship development, legal and partner acumen, delivery oversight and program management in those accounts.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

This role involves developing long-term consulting relationships with C-suite customers. You will engage closely with clients to deeply understand their business drivers and application portfolio, then leverage that insight to craft tailored cloud strategies.
Key responsibilities include identifying and developing specific opportunities, building business cases, deal shaping with estimations and pricing, as well as contract negotiations. You will plan and oversee the implementation of a project portfolio, managing budgets and deliverables while mitigating risks and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Acting as the primary point of contact for customer executives, you will build trusted, collaborative relationships, educate them on AWS services, and translate that knowledge into clear business value propositions. Leveraging your expertise and vision, you will inspire and coach customer as well as partner teams to become self-sufficient.

As this is a customer-facing role, travel to client locations may be required to deliver professional services.

Professional Services engage in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners, providing collective experience from across the AWS customer base and are obsessed about strong success for the Customer. Our team collaborates across the entire AWS organization to bring access to product and service teams, to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation based upon customer needs.

  • Mutiple years of IT consulting/management experience, with demonstrated business and Digital Transformation experience in customer-facing roles.
  • Extensive experience managing large Industry vertical accounts, IT and business consulting (relationship management, achieving growth targets / sales quotas, high customer satisfaction achievement, project portfolio management, contract negotiations etc.).
  • Experience driving Sales and Delivery, with ownership for attaining revenue targets
  • Experience in commercial contracting, including Statements of Work
  • Strong analytical capabilities, relentlessly thinking big, championing innovative customer outcomes- Experience with enterprise IT management frameworks (e.g. COBIT, ITIL, cyber, etc.).
  • Broad enterprise systems technology experience including IaaS / virtualization technologies, cloud, ML/AI, traditional and renewables power generation, transmission, utility retail, E&P, refining/chemical/wells process control and SCADA, fuelling-retail, and supply chain
  • Experience with enterprise application programs (SAP, Oracle, BI Systems, Maximo, etc.) and technical infrastructures in Industry, including design, build, and operate of global solutions
  • Experience with designing, building, and operating global IT organizations and infrastructures
