A supportive and happy primary school in Westminster are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their committed team within Reception.

Working as a Primary Teaching Assistant supporting children with SEND, your day-to-day duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with early reading and early maths skills development
  • Providing support for children with SEND in the reception classroom, so they can become confident learners and achieve independence in their learning
  • Assisting with the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum and ensuring all children are able to access it
  • Supporting the class teacher to implement the targets in children's IEPs
  • Delivering interventions programmes and keep records updated with pupils' progress, working closely with the class teachers the impact of support and interventions
  • Following the scaffolding framework to support pupils with their learning
  • Helping children to build on their social skills and develop positive relationships
  • Supporting children's personal, social and emotional development
  • Motivating children to think creatively and develop their skills further
  • Supporting non-verbal children in with Speech and Language activities
As a Primary SEND TA you would be working full-time (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm) and it is a long-term role expected to last until the end of the academic year in July 2025. This will give you the opportunity to see how the children you support progress and develop across the year.
