The Training Programme Director in IMT (Greater Manchester - North) will support the Head of School in the Strategic Development of the School of Medicine.

The postholder will be responsible for Stage 1 IMT trainees from Year 1 to Year 3.

Postholder will also be expected to contribute to the Quality Assurance of medical training for all NHSE ACCS trainees rotating through medical posts.

The post holder will lead on the development of the School’s Recruitment and Retention Strategy and contribute to supporting the School Operational Programme.

The post holder will be a member of the School Board.

Applicants must be a consultant in the NHS in the Northwest of the UK.

Please note this is a 3-year secondment with potential for extension to a maximum of three years, subject to mutual agreement.

Work in collaboration with Head of School of Medicine to develop and implement a Medical Workforce Strategy which supports the recruitment and retention of Medical IMT Trainees with focus on the regional education programs.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you’ll usually need to be paid the ‘standard’ salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the ‘going rate’ for your job, whichever is higher.

To support the Head of School to ensure appropriate systems for Assessment, Rotational Management, Trainee Supervision & Support and other functions within the school.

To promote or lead work programmes on behalf of the School of Medicine.
