Engineer and Laboratory Supervisor

Working within a busy Technical Department, your duties working as Engineer & Laboratory Supervisor, will include:
- Engaging with production departments to resolve issues relating to products and equipment, working closely with assembly and testing departments and engineering support on a daily basis
- Responding to sales requests for chemical compatibility checks and technical issues, received via shared technical inbox, engaging with customers and distributors
- Undertaking appropriate research and development to deliver solutions
- Testing of products to identify failures and develop solutions
- Project management, ensuring that conclusions are reached via liaising with other departments and functions within the technical department
- Supervising the laboratory asset
- Enforcing 6s of lab users, but with managerial support from the Technical Manager as required
- Keeping testing methods, risk assessments and relevant documentation up to date
- Lab overall function and organisation
- Driving continuous improvement
You will have/be:
- An engineering background related to mechanical or manufacturing engineering disciplines
- Manufacturing skills relating to machining and manufacturing processes
- Experience in problem solving and determining root cause (training can be provided)
- The ability to manage several aspects and competing priorities
- Report writing skills
- Strong communication skills
- Good time management skills
